Posted on April 2, 2008

Slacker recently announced that they have teamed up with Wi-Fi connection wizards Devicescape to make that elusive Wi-Fi connectivity easy to use and find.

From hotels and airports to coffee shops and restaurants, Slacker Portable users will now be able to make effortless connections to an expanded range of Wi-Fi hotspots that normally require a password or web-based login.

For those of you who are lucky enough to be currently using the Slacker Portable Player, the Devicescape functionality is now available through a free firmware update. To get this update all you need is a simple station refresh, while all new Slacker Portable Players will ship with this latest feature pre-installed.
