Today Slacker announced the all new “Radio Plus”, a value priced offering which gives listeners access to all of the features of the free Basic Radio service, with the added ability to skip an unlimited number of songs and request an unlimited number of songs when creating their own custom stations for only $3.99 per month.

So you ask… what’s the difference between the new Plus and Premium services? The only difference I can see is that the Premium has the ability to “heart” your favorite songs and cost $6 more per month. If you do not have a premium Slacker account yet, Slacker is adding yet another great new feature to entice you. Request Radio is a new feature that allow you to further customize your Slacker experience. The new feature works like this:

- Choose “edit” while playing one of your stations
- Click the new tab titled “Request Songs” (see photo).
- Type in an artist/band you like, and then “request” songs by clicking on the heart beside each song.

As with everything Slacker does, it is that simple. Slacker will play these songs more often, making your custoimized radio experience even better.

Slacker recently announced that they have teamed up with Wi-Fi connection wizards Devicescape to make that elusive Wi-Fi connectivity easy to use and find.

From hotels and airports to coffee shops and restaurants, Slacker Portable users will now be able to make effortless connections to an expanded range of Wi-Fi hotspots that normally require a password or web-based login.

For those of you who are lucky enough to be currently using the Slacker Portable Player, the Devicescape functionality is now available through a free firmware update.
